Wah, My dear friend Robert played your cd for me while I was visiting Yogaville. As a going away gift he gave me the most wonderful gift of "Hidden in the Name" Since Monday, it has been constantly playing and it is very elevating and inspiring. Thank you for your wonderful gift to all of us and for touching our hearts. Om Shanti Ishwari Fri 5/25/2007 10:03 AM

I've been listening to Savasana for the first time, and simply had to tell you how blown away I was by it. I try and expose myself to a vast myriad of music from all over the place. There's lots of good stuff out there, but not too many albums I own hit me on the deep spiritual level yours did. It's timeless! Thanks for sharing yourself with the world -- keep doing exactly what you're doing. :) - Ido Sat 5/26/2007 1:24 AM thank you so much ido.
your words come at exactly the right time.

Hey Wah: I ordered your 10 year 'Best Of' and just listened to Heart Sutra for the first time. The Spirits came in and wrapped themselves around my body. I literally melted into my sofa!...
You have always been an innovator with your work.

Wah,
You are truly amazing! Your voice has gotten deep into my soul and has entered a place of healing for me. I am recovering from a car accident which I am learning, has helped me slow down in my life. During a massage recently, I was blessed with the delight of hearing your voice for the very first time. It isn't too often that music will affect me like yours has. I am lost for words! I have not been able to find your new CD "The Best of Wah". So in the meantime, each time I log onto the computer I click on your website to play clips from each of your CD's. Instantly I am engulfed in a peacefulness that I cannot explain. I am sure you have heard this before from many others, but I have a strong desire to share what I am feeling with you now. My healing comes from within and I know that when I am drawn to something as powerful as your voice and words, I have been truly blessed. I wish I could have found you long ago but realize that now was the time for me to invite you into my life. I will find your music and add it to my collection. I have a 30 minute drive to work each day and I have memorized the words of "Gayatri" and I find myself singing this beautiful song many times a day. Absolutely wonderful. If you are ever in Canada, I will definitely plan to be a part of your circle of love. I am greatful for your gift. You are truly blessed. With love and light, I am Jane. Ontario Canada

hi Jane, I am delighted to get your email and hear of your healing. certainly your work on the physical level has led to healing on spiritual and other levels. I am so happy to hear of your progress! emotional healing is elusive and annoying, but physical healing is most challenging. you can't get away from physical pain, you have to go at the pace your body dictates. I am glad you are enjoying the music. you can always buy Best of Wah from Sounds True. http://store.soundstrue.com/mm01079d.html I don't know what their shipping is to Canada. or you can buy any of the other CDs from cdbaby, they are great. maybe savasana or savasana*2 would be good for your healing. http://cdbaby.com/found?allsearch=wah&allsearchsubmit=Search thank you for sharing your journey. it means so much to me to know that people are out there, transforming their lives, their bodies, their minds. rock on, girl... jai, wah

Greetings from Singapore! Hi Wah! :) I listen to your music almost every day. My favorite is the Om Mani Padme Hum chant in Jai Jai Jai, and next is Hare Krishna on Savasana. You might be tickled to know that your music was first circulated in Shanghai about 4 years ago, I was taking yoga with Abby who was a friend of Julie (Julie's Yoga she mentioned) who had your music, and our corpse practice was played to Hare Krishna. I googled your music after that and it has followed me since. Thank you thank you thank you. There is so much love present. Chor Pharn Mon 3/26/2007 7:06 AM

Hi! Firstly thank you for creating such beautiful music, i use it during my yoga classes and you are becoming very popular in Galway, Ireland, maybe a trip to Ireland could be scheduled in the near future? :) Secondly, i adore "Closing" and have tried to find the lyrics online but to no avail, could you send them on to me, then myself and my students can sing it to ourselves during our own relaxation or time outs:) Thanking you, Namaste, Maev Saturday, March 17, 2007 9:28 AM

Hi I just bought Embrace, it is really good. Especially the last track on Come to Me (the raw unpolished version) was so real, so close, it washed me away. Thank you, Wah, this is really really good. I have never met Amma except through Lonely Planet's Shapiro visiting her documentary, but I could feel someone emmanating mother love through this track. Thanks, it is the best! Your savassana rocks too! Lee Wednesday, March 14, 2007 5:39 PM

Hey Wah, how's it going? I just got back from Bahamas late Tues nite after
seeing you perform the evening concert and after noon workshop. It was so
nice to meet you and be exposed to your music and stories. I really enjoyed
you. I've had the chant "Love is - arms open wide" can't remember the rest
of it, but I got off the plane with "arms open wide" truly with me. What CD
is that on?
I had this amazing experience while there, talk about a major breakthrough
and had this whole other worldly experience like nothing I've had before.
Wow is all I can say.
I'm listening to you on myspace at moment. When the music started my whole
body just reacted and got all this tingling in my body, it was cool!
I'm also a musician, I was right back into things and did a gig in Boston
last nite. Can't wait to get home tonite, sit down with my guitar and see
what happens. I have a feeling I've a bunch of new material inside me!!!
Ok, hope to see you again. Take care. Ciao, peace and love, Elaine Thursday, March 22, 2007 6:18 AM
hi elaine, great to hear from you. the bahamas was great, it was just what I needed to relax and restore. I am glad you enjoyed the music. the song you refer to is the title track from Embrace. http://www.wahmusic.com/music_embrace.html you can listen to track #3. how nice that you are a musician! what style of music do you play? we don't come to boston much, but kripalu is a regular stopover for us. wishing you many creative moments, peace, wah Sun 3/25/2007 2:59 PM ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
SitaRam! Namaste to such a great and gentle soul - thank you for pouring your heart and soul out for all of us to participate/learn/sing/pray. I am finding it impossible to find one track of yours that is my ultimate favorite - It is "Rahda Govinda", from your Savasana2 album. I encountered this song thru adding Amma on my "mypage" friends. Thank you - know that no matter what, keep pouring out to RadhaGovinda, for the more you pour out, the more you are infused with. Namaste, and love. Trina Fri 3/9/2007 8:59 PM

Namaste Wah!
Even after listening to your CD Krishna for the past 7 years, my family loves it daily!
I don't know why there is certainly a magic or a miracle in those songs, is truly the voice that baits you to bliss and serenity. I have spent lots of money in so many other CDs, but this one still stands out as the BEST OF THE BEST in among all Kirtans. Yes #1 as per the Bharatiya choice. We love listening to your Jai! Jai!! Jai!!! also.
If you ever visit Texas, consider our family home as yours.
As always continue with lots of joys in life.

Wah-I just want to also let you know that "One In A Million" from the Embrace CD is amazing... I can feel Mother through your beautiful homage to Her and I can't begin to tell you how helpful it has all been! I mean it, so thank you from my deepest Heart...I put my iPod on in the subway and listen to "One In A Million" or "Can You Save Me" and I am filled with Mother's presence and suddenly I see all the other people on the train as manifestations of Mother and I see how beautiful they all are. Dear Wah-I make very short videos for my own amusement and broadcast (usually on Youtube and Public Access TV). I have just finished making one called "What is a Stone Pilgrim?"( on youtube.com) and used your performance of Govind Jaya Jaya as the background. Could you view it and let me know if I have permission to use the song? Thank you for your consideration. Sincerely,

Hi Wah – I received my book recently. Thanks. I turned it over to my wife to wrap and put under the Christmas tree. (Did the same with my YJ calendar.)... Countless little things over countless lives bring us to the very moment, but we imagine that our lives turn around single events. And so we fail to notice the myriad of everyday blessings. Among the many things in my life that that are nudging me through the door is your music. Thank you. David Thu 12/7/2006 7:19 AM

Hello Wah!
I have such a sweet story to share with you.... My mother picked up my 16 year old niece, Kayla, from work the other day. It had been a few weeks since we last saw her. My mother was waiting in the car listening to your CD's on shuffle (as always). When Kayla climbed into the car and fell into the seat, she said, "I miss this music!" I have actually promised to try to take Kayla to your next concert at Kripalu in May 2007. I know she would love it! I was so hoping to see you on the fall-winter schedule at Kripalu and was disappointed to see you will not be here until next year. It will be difficult waiting so long to see you in kirtan again, but we all know it will be well worth the wait! Wah!, may you have a wondefrful and abundant year and may you always be surrounded with love and light! love to you always, Amy and Lynn Martin

Hi Wah! My name is Liat, and i am teaching Ashtanga vinyasa yoga in Israel.
Indeed my reaction after doing savasana listening to your first savasana CD was "wow!". I just wanted to say that your music is something else, unlike anything else I heard before - divine and healing. wishing you more and more inspiration, and hope to see you perform in Israel in the near future. yours with love, Liat Fri 10/13/2006 10:51 AM

Wah, I can not begin to say how much your music has affected my life as of late. A friend of mine who is a yoga teacher gave me your CD, I didn't listen to it for a while as sometimes I procrastinate at trying new things, well then I did and it has opened me in such a new way. I am now doing yoga almost every day in my living room and chanting to your CD and I feel so much more balanced and aligned. I think your music is even making my Beta fish Maxi happy and we are in harmony together! My favorite is the song Jai Ma, #2 on the pink album-I forgot the name of this album (Hidden in the Name ed.), but it's the song that you wrote for your friend to help her through her passing. I was wondering about your chanting nights, I would love to attend if I could. I sometimes do Kirtan with Govindas of Brian Kest Power Yoga, this is where I practice yoga-and now! In my living room! You are so talented and your music inspires me to want to serve and flow with nature and give of myself to the universe. Namaste!!!!! Danielle Thu 9/7/2006 8:52 AM

Wah, my now four year old son has been listening to you for years now. He calls your music God music. Enjoying your latest Savasana2 CD as well as the one for Amma. It is your voice first and music second that is captivating and at the same time 'punches'
me out. its as best as I can put it. I give thanks for you and your intentions and your vibrations. ankh-em-ma'at (in living truth). Jonah Fri 8/18/2006 12:37 AM

Hi Wah! I Was at East West Books In NYC last eve and they had a copy of embrace which I snapped up! Went home and listened to it and of course this morning had to hear it again before work. I almost got here late because of that! So I've got Save Me repeating itself in my head. Water is such a beautiful song as is Tapasya. You sound superb. Another facet to the jewel is revealed. Wah, Your performance at Kripalu on July 12 was simply amazing. I think we all felt the beautiful love you were radiating out to all. We were smiling, dancing, clapping, hugging, crying.... and most of us strangers, but in that moment, as one. Thank you so much. I have been trying to find that song on your CDs, could you tell me the name of the CD it might be on and the song name. It was the last song you preformed, in sanskrit, I think you even lost your voice for a bit, it was very powerful. I couldn't imagine a better way to end the Music Festival. You are truly gifted. namaste Marlene Tuesday, August 08, 2006 5:21 AM

Dear Wah, I have been listening the samples of your soundclips in a voice which is difficult to describe in words how beautiful it is and given equally beautiful lyrics to it ,the end product can safely be placed in a higher strata of joyous feelings. To me these are the virtues of sacred songs sung in crafted voice. God has blessed you with a beautiful voice and you have returned in gratitude by singing in His praise - very uplifting indeed. Would it be too much to ask you to select one of your best selling cds of your sacred songs? This would be a starter to savour and will lead me to select your other cds in time even though it will help me if you wouldn't mind listing all of your cds in line of your preference. Forgive me if it appears to be a tall order but I will be ever so greatful. I am in the process of acquiring cds of sacred and devotional songs and would like to add yours from now on. Even though I am no stranger to song offerings to God and am steeply enamored in spiritual life in the realm of Hinduism, I am equally ovewhelmed at the explosion of human gifts of awakening to deep emotions emanating from the spiritual people I have come across many of such people in the web who are also helping me in self realisation. Reading your web pages of your concert tour in many parts of the world, would it ever happen for you to be in England I would love to be present in such a live concert. Yours in prayers, Ashoke Thursday, August 03, 2006 3:46 PM
Ashoke, Thank you so much for your kind words and beautiful energy, which I received from this email. I would recommend Savasana. it is deeply steeped in devotion and meditative energy. I am definitely trying to get to England, London specifically. Paul is there now doing some studio work and we would have come together but I had previous engagements here in LA. We'll be there sometime soon! Oh, and if after listening to the music samples of Savasana, you want something different (call-and-response, English lyrics, longer songs, etc), let me know and I will recommend something else. with love and blessings, wah Monday, August 7, 2006 6:02 PM

Hi Wah! I've been enjoying your music very much for several years, and I have several of your CD's. I also make my living as a professional musician (vocals, electric bass, guitar, and percussion) here in New York (my web site is www.musicthatheals.org) and I also teach (part-
time) Spirituality and Religions of the World at St. John's University in Jamaica, New York, where I often use your music in my classes. I was just wondering if there is any possibility that you might do a long version of the "Om Namah Shivaya" chant that you have on the "Hidden in the Name" CD. It's truly beautiful and I find it absolutely transporting. Would you consider an idea like this? I really like what you did with the "Lokah" and "Gayatri" chants, and I would really love to see a similar thing done with the "Om Namah Shivaya" mantra; an even longer (up to an hour) version if possible. Also, are you planning any chanting events in the New York area this year? Thanks so much, and many blessings to you. Your music is a beautiful gift of positive and uplifting energy to this world, which desperately needs it. - Susan Tuesday, July 25, 2006 3:27 PM
hi susan,
we'll be in NYC first weekend in november.
I appreciate the suggestion for om namah shivaya chant. we are currently working on remixes and interesting versions of existing chants. maybe we can do this one, cause it is so overwhelmingly popular. people love to sing it at the end of the concerts. thanks for writing, great to meet you. keep doing your work, it looks great. wah Saturday, July 28, 2006 2:15 PM

Hi Wah!, Just found Maha Deva on your myspace page. Is this on a new CD about to be released? If yes, I hope to pick one up when I see you at the NYC or Philly gathering in November.
I'm really enjoying Savasana*2. I fall asleep to it every night and wake up to it every morning in blissed out peace. I can't really express in words what your songs mean to me - but I get closer to *that* place. Om shanti, Ron Thu 7/20/2006 6:04 PM
Hi Ron, the Maha Deva track is from a clubby remix CD I am working on with Paul Hollman. We perform it in the live shows and it totally rocks. Might be a year before it's released. Thanks for your kind words. wah 7/26/2006 9:38 AM

Your cd Jai Jai Jai is my favorite even though when you were here in Tucson I said it was the Krishna cd. The track "What SHE Has To Give" is the track that moves my soul. In this song you express with your words & soul the experience many of us have had with Amma but could never express. It makes me think - no it makes me feel Amma - Her smile - Her hug - Her presence - it gives me goose bumps! No kidding!!! I would like it to go on and on - how about the next paragraph to this song! Looking forward to being with our "Divine Mother" in LA and seeing you and Paul. In Amma's Service, Jill Weiss Sat 6/3/2006 3:44 PM

Namaste'. I love Wah and am trying to find a particular song that she does. I have it on a meditation cd "SHANTI SHANTI" by Jesse Gianniji Lombardi. The song I am referring is to a "HAR" chant repeated over and over and towards the end she begins singing, on top of the HAR chanting, "I am beautiful I am ... (something)" I love this one so much and find much peace and power to it and would love to findout which album it is on. Thank you! Sanieh "Truth is one, paths are many" -Swami Satchidananda Friday, May 05, 2006 3:52 PM
Sanieh, wow, that is a long time ago! The CD name is Transformation and you might find it at www.spiritvoyage.com . Otherwise, send me your mailing address and I will mail it to you. Lyrics are: Har.... Om Namah shivaya... I am beautiful, I am light. love wah Saturday, May 6, 2006 12:05 PM

Hello Wah, I heard a most captivating chant two years ago. The DJ only announced that he was putting it back into the archive and would never be heard again. It was played again this evening. This time I wrote down the station, WPKN, Bridgeport CT. The DJ announced that the title was Govinda Makinda, by Wah. I just browsed Wah's website. No Govinda Makinda. Can you help me locate this wonderfully perfect music? Namaste, Noel Wednesday, April 05, 2006 5:42 PM
hello noel, and thank you for your e. I think the song you are referring to is "Healing of the Heart" from the CD Transformation try this link and see if it is the song you heard on the radio http://www.spiritvoyage.com/shopping/detail_clips.cfm?PC=1187 if so, you can buy it from spirit voyage music (I think) if you have a problem, let me know wah Wednesday, April 05, 2006 9:18 PM

Wah, Where I can I find lyrics to follow the music, especially lyrics of Come to Me. Thank you. Sincerely, Veenu Thursday, March 16, 2006 7:26 AM
veenu, lyrics are at: www.wahmusic.com/music_hidden.html Click (lyrics) next to the song. let me know if you don't see the pink and red boxes (sometimes mac users don't see the link). peace, wah Mar 21, 2006, at 4:09 PM
Oh, Wonderful wonderful Wah! How I love your voice and your music. I found the lyrics, how did you know I was on a mac? I sit out on my porch, with my eyes closed and often the tears streaming down my face, shamelessly surrendering my 53 year year old tired and beaten spirit, to the peace of your music, which both energizes and soothes my soul. Ah, Bliss! Often I will dance and sway, especially to Radhe! I listen to your voice at least twice a day, and I am so looking forward to see you in concert sometime. May God Bless you. May God bless my beautiful Yoga teacher Annie who introduced us to your music and told us about your website. Keep spreading your light. Sincerely, Veenu Tue 3/21/2006 4:09 PM

Dear Wah, I wanted to share with you a slideshow my boyfriend put together for me last week after my beloved pet child Rani passed away.
When I heard your song "Come to Me" I knew it was the right song for this. It's on the internet now and touching many people. Adam told me you wrote this song about your guru. I would have to say that Rani was my guru- he taught me about unconditional love and was by my side for many years when I was ill an bedridden. Thank you for your music. It has helped my heart to heal. Thu 3/16/2006 9:21 AM ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
hey, wah.... i just wanted to tell you that we appreciate you sharing your beauty, energy, and light with us all. our daughter tekla was born on august 9, 2005 (she loved being with us in oly at the wa. center the other night, she was the baby who fell asleep...) and we played the kirtan from "one life at a time" during my labor. at one point, i was in the birthing tub with brian and i realized that we were not the only ones chanting.... our 2 midwives and our doula were all united with us in the chant. we had an amazing and positive birth experience, it was more beautiful and profound than anything we ever endured together. tekla arrived riding the wave of the sacred om, uttered by grand master choa kok sui. tekla's first "concert", was a kirtan with kd in seattle when she was just 2 months old. it was wonderful to set in spirit together! when it was over i actually had him sign a diaper for tekla! i share this with you because we are honored that your presence was felt during the birth of our sweet child. i was delighted to hear that you have a cd for birthing... maybe next time, although one baby is all we need right now! may you feel the balance and beauty of this equinox time..... p Mon 3/20/2006 9:08 AM

Dear wah! I have been enjoying your music for only about a year and a half. I have had the good fortune to see you in LA, Encinitas twice and last September at Omega. I play your music at my Spa and you have been kind in responding to my emails. I want to share a story about how powerful you music has become for my family. This January my daughter and I made a trip to Oregon to visit my father. During our visit my father unexpectedly passed away. While he was still conscious,
I felt I wanted to reach out to him with something that had a deeper meaning for me, so on that first day I played "Come to Me" for him and sang it to him at the same time. The next day I was again moved to play "Come to Me" again for him. I sang it with tears in my eyes and my heart full of love. He passed during that song. The entire room was touched by your music. I played it again for my sister-in-law. When we were making all of the plans for my Dad's funeral she suggested we play the song at his service. We spent the next few days going through over 4000 photos of my father's life. My brother and I created a slide show with about 90 of these pictures and hired a professional to put it to the music of "Come to Me." It is incredible. We didn't see it until the funeral service and it was moving: tears, laughter, joy! Thank you wah! Craig Wed 3/1/2006 11:30 PM

Hi, Greetings from Florida. I found a CD that has these songs: 1. Walk Through That Door 2. Give Us Grace. These are two of my favorite songs of yours. They are very inspiring and touch my heart. My friends are also touched by these songs. I burned a copy for one friend and he would like to send a donation. Where does he send it to? Also, do you have a cd released with these tracks on it? Many blessings and thanks, Zeba

Wah- I'm really enjoying you and the musicians that you play with. I discovered your music at an intensive/conference given by Lawrence Lanoff in Sedona this Jan.....he was playing selections from "hidden in the name". I purchased it and "LOVED IT". I followed that up with an immediate purchase of "Jai". When I played the first song, Bolo Ram, it had the effect of an immediate, intense, emotional connection and release in me. I was so touched......the tears flowed.......The feeling of deep Gratitude was and still is happening for me..... THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. The effects of your music has "stirred it up" for many here in Iowa, lately. Gordon Thu 2/9/2006 7:23 PM

Dear Wah, How are you, I wish well! I am fine and with your music even more : ) I am listening it so often and it is giving me so much joy and happiness. I was wandering if in your music performance you include also some Kiirtans. Do you have some your music CD about Kiirtan singing ? Should I send you some sample (.mp3) of what I mean? We use regularly to play & sing and dance these Kiirtans before meditation. Awaiting your most welcome reply soon, I send my best wishes from Italy. Jai Ma, shriidhara Friday, February 03, 2006 3:07 AM
shriidhara, kirtan can mean many things - from mantra chanting to bhajans and songs. we sing english songs in the middle of our concerts which I think of as bhajans in english. have you checked out music samples on my website? www.wahmusic.com/music.html each CD has music samples you can listen to, so you can tell me if I have recorded what you are looking for. if not, get me back in the studio so we can do it! peace, wah Tuesday, February 07, 2006 3:58 PM

Dear Wah, I read a review of your work and have since listened to several chants, and plan to order some of your CDs -- you have an amazing voice. But I'm wondering whether you have recorded, or plan to record, my favorite chant. The words are: Govinda hare, Gopala hare Hay prabu deena diyalla hare. I'm not 100% sure of the spelling, but it's a beautiful chant. It's on Krishna Das's Pilgrim Heart CD and what I really would like to hear is your voice in this chant. I first heard it chanted by a woman live and it spoke to a longing and love inside me that was infinite. namaste, Elizabeth/BC, Canada Tuesday, January 24, 2006 10:27 PM
elizabeth thanks for writing, I am very familiar with the chant you love but indeed I have not recorded it that melody. brings me back to my days touring with krishna das, lovely stuff... if I or anyone other female singer records it, I'll be sure to drop you an e. in praise, wah Wed 1/25/2006 9:34 AM

Namaste Wah! I have been meaning to let you know how much I love your CD Savasana 2. I have been starting every day (almost) with a meditation while listening to the first two tracks. dear wah, I have been meaning to let you know how wonderful your performance was last Saturday evening in Philadelphia at yoga on main. I am new to attending Kirtans and I felt as though I was floating for days and days after your performance. I can remember the first time I heard your music; I was at Kripalu for a workshop weekend and before I left I asked the girl in the gift shop if she could recommend any cd in the shop which she would recommend and she said your Jai Jai disc. I got into my car home for the long drive back to Philly--put the disc in and by the end of song 1 I realized their were tears running down my face. I couldn't believe how deeply your music affected me. Thank you for sharing your gift. best wishes, erica, philly fan Saturday, November 26, 2005 2:59 PM

Susan,
I thank you for sharing your experience. you have gone forward bravely and with compassion. Hi there, Again wanted to compliment you on a great show at Omega. Really enjoyed your stuff and have since literally the first time I heard it. I spoke to you and your husband in the dining room the last day of Labor Day show. I asked about your last couple of songs. You mentioned they were done for Agape. Shall I contact them or you about getting more info? To quote you…or were they from songs, I am not sure… Is it Love… How far down the road am I…. I loved your honesty, great reminder that we all have trials. Thank you again. Your music is inspirational. Laurel Tuesday, October 25, 2005 5:45 AM

Namaste, Wah! I met you when you performed in West Chester, PA. a few years ago. I love your Savasana CD and am anxious to get the second. I use it sometimes when I teach yoga classes. I think about you often and the stories you told about your path of spiritual growth. You were influential to others, as well. Two friends who were there at your performance are now performing kirtan music locally. I enjoyed reading about how this second cd evolved. I hope to see you when you are in Pennsylvania next month. Wah,
People all the time come up to me and ask what cd's I recommend and always Jai Jai Jai is top on my list and they always come back with great appreciation and enthusiasm after purchasing it. I must have lent out my copy a dozen or so times and have had to purchase a new one cause they like it so much that i don't have the heart to ask for it back and wind up just telling them to keep it. It's really terrific to see the joy that you bring to so many through your music. Much Love and Many Blessings, Robert 10/04/2005 10:04 AM

Wah! My girlfriend is pregnant and we want to chant together everyday to the baby. My girlfriend feels really connected to the Durga chant: "Durge, durge, durge jai jai ma...." What does this chant mean? Craig Thu 9/15/2005 1:13 PM
Craig, Durga is the Mother of all Goddesses. Jai means 'praise' and 'Ma' means 'Mother.' The mantra is in praise of the Divine Mother. Why am I not surprised? She wants access to the Motherload. wah 09/15/2005 4:28 PM

Namaste Wah! For years I've been attempting to find a crossroads between holistic and musical communities. My work is in extending the rock & pop song traditions to where optimism is revived and new takes on old romantic verities are substantiated. There is so much I'd like to tell you, as we are indeed kindred spirits. My path into Taoist cultivation, yoga, and related practices came later than you in your beginnings – my roots are in angst, but still I started dealing with it philosophically and physically by the time I graduated from Bennington College . Years later, the healing work just gets deeper and deeper – life is basically a continual stream of inner spiraling smiles at this point. I've been a fan of yours for about three years now: Heard you during a craniosacral session and immediately asked who it was and set about ordering a couple of CDs. In peace and light- John Wed 7/13/2005 12:37 PM

I want to comment on each song in Opium- from the perfect invocation: "Open your heart" through every sentiment you articulate so wonderfully perfect... What I think it is about it/you is that I have total conviction that everything you utter is TRUTH.. I guess what I am saying is that somehow there is this total faith I have in you- as a spiritual/divine human being, and your gift, your you-ness, that comes through that voice is completely transformative in its power, beauty, and haunting passionate drenched reality....I think your line "When I wake up I will try and remember the dream" is mantric, a perfect mantra- And I LOVE your line about " It is the feeling beneath that I seek" and they way you slip in that "there goes another half a century" Wow! And Leap of Faith- a perfect challenge and a reminder.... I send you my deepest love and hopes for your utter complete fulfillment of all your dreams.. Love and Blessings, Doug Fri 7/15/2005 11:08 AM

Wah, Last year I came into Nainital, India and the lady I was travelling with was deathly ill. She recovered eventually, but at the time I was tired and I must have really needed some reminder of home because from the chai shop across the street came the sound of your voice - Ram Bolo Ram Bolo Ram Bolo Ram. I went right over there and hung out for awhile. The chai shop owner said, "You KNOW this singer?" We talked for awhile and it lifted my spirits. Your music brought a precious and comforting moment in my India travels. Jayananda 07/23/2005

My friend recently introduced me to your Japji cd set you first did
in the 70's. I have been listening to it most days since I received
it. The first few listenings I enjoyed, but then it began to really
hit me in my core at certain parts. I now believe that this work is
a masterpiece. Because of its understanding of Japji and the experience
it provides me every time I listen, I consider this album of equal value
to my spiritual well being as John Coltrane's "A Love Supreme"
or T.S. Eliot's "The Four Quartets". My humblest thanks. This
music is eternal. Every time I hear you sing "He alone, yes, He
the One" the stress of running a business and being a
father/husband melt away and I feel completely human again. In deepest
love and appreciation, Dharam Singh Friday, January 07, 2005 12:38 PM

your kind words, all the best, wah January 10, 2005 11:37 AM

Hello wah! My new husband and I are throwing a wedding blessing celebration
out here in Colorado (because we had our wedding in South Carolina in
september) and I wanted to lead a chant; Lokaah Samastaah Sukhino Bhavantu.
You sing three verses within the chant on the Savasana cd. I know the
first verse: Asato Maa Sad Gamaya... But I'm not familiar with the other
two. If you have time before Saturday (tomorrow), I'd so appreciate
you sending the words my way. Many many thanks in advance for your energy
and time. I'm sure you're quite busy. namaste, pixie Nov 19, 2004 4:55

Wah! has become the music of choice for me and everyone I play her CDs
for. Her style is soothing and calm, uplifting and transformational.
It conveys joyousness and rapture. It is accessable and understandable
to us ordinary mortals, because it appeals to something universal inside
of us. It is a musical journey, and I am excited that I have been able
to participate in it. Wah has a gift of great value which she lovingly
shares. Her music enhances anyone who listens. Victoria/Thousand Oaks,

I´ve been playing and singing many of Wah!´s songs at my
Yoga studio in Rio de Janeiro and the feeling that we all have is pure
bliss, it´s magic and we leave the classes feeling lighter, emotional
and very happy. The hatha Yogis all ask me who is that singer and next
year I hope we will meet her and practice a lot of chanting with WAH!
Definitely the Universe spreads the positive vibrations across any borders.

hi wah, i have been listening to jai jai jai....here are some
unsolicited comments....the first track---ram bolo.... very inspiring...very
smooth vocals. transitions from mantra to mantra were mostly seamless..
that's hard to do...really brought me to interior spaces. overall, listening
made me jealous because you took the music out of my head and manifested
something that i would have done.... same thing with the last track....
the gayatri was never better revealed! majestic, such a full symphonic
opening giving way to a hip percussion groove....this one really made
me mad.... such a masterpiece.... what would i change to make it a classic
for all time? add a bridge...with peter gabriel overtones... blessings,

wah wow: You really did it this time lady. I thought KD had reached
a new level with his latest CD, but your new one (Jai Jai Jai)-
let's try for a definitive statement here - your new one seems to be
your best in showing what unique angles Americans can bring to kirtan.
Instead of throwing in more reggae beats, which I always like anyway,
this is something slightly different. I love it. And your Gayatri Mantra....
The summer before last I was out kayaking, far enough away from anybody
else on the water that I started singing Gayatri at the top of my lungs.
Awesome experience. Thank you, thank you, thank you. frank Friday, December

Thanks for the new album. Jai Jai Jai! Because the making of it encompassed
two (or wait three!) of your trips to Tucson, it's especially sweet
to finally have some of that new stuff on cd. Have you considered putting
out a durge single, with a few distinct versions? I ask because of the
huge difference between the way we chanted it in each of the last three
concerts--each of which rocked the house and had everyone commenting
on the cool groove for days. Could this be the financial future of your
albums--releasing a cd of three sita rams, another cd of om namah shivayas,
etc. Because I don't live around a kirtan posse I really like the idea
cause it allows me to stay with the same energy, like you did in cd
krishna. just a thought. love erik Friday, October 17, 2003 6:41 PM
erik, how much money do you think I have?!
OK, first let me tell you my list... when more money comes in, first
thing I'll get is a tour bus with a driver, then I'll get some backup
singers, some roadies, and THEN we'll record some stuff live. I mean,
Jeez, whaddya think I'm made of - gold? (that'd be nice) all love, wah

Jai Jai Jai ... your new CD is Ahmazing! Every
track speaks to me. There is a fine line between going commercial and
being true to yourself. Here, as is true with all your work, the spirit
is talking loud and clear to all of us. There is more youthfulness and
even more sincerity shining through here, than on most anything I have
heard. There is much purity and innocence in a true seekers life, and
rarely do we all get to share and receive it. Thanks so much for what
you have 'created' here. It is a channeled work, on all levels, and
a long play as well! I love the track 'what she has to give' too. I
can do a full review, but I will spare you. Suffice it to say, it's
a true work of love with great accompaniement and spirit beaming through
every track. I will lead with Gayatri almost every night, as my spiritual
program starts around 8 or 9pm pst most every night.Be well and know

deep and heartfelt thanks. i just had a powerful cry and heart opening
while listening to 'come to me' from 'hidden in the name,' which you

much needed. so thank you, thank you, thank you. now starting over from

it so much. I asked the name of the CD after class and am planning to

CDs that are played during our practice until this one. It was so wonderful!!!
I can't wait to get it home and listen to it whenever I want. I don't
think I'll play it during my commute to work in the morning, though.

Pranam Dear Wah, Thank you so much for your work. I purchased your "Child's
Play CD & book" as I work with children of special needs teaching
yoga & massage. I felt you should know what an impact your CD has
made especially for one of my students. She is blind 25 year old with
autism and osteoporosis of developmental age of four. She has had a
strong tendency towards the negative in so many ways. We practice with
your CD playing. It has given her something very positive to perseverate
on. It has been such a gift for her. She looks forward to our time of
breathing, stretching, and relaxation & massage. Your work has been
a huge piece of the picture. You have touched her life so very deeply.
Are you aware of other CDs of similar nature for children? Also, I am
currently working on a thesis on children with asthma as a portion of
my exam work with Sonia Sumar, and wonder if you have music or guidance
suggestions from your work in children's camps regarding asthma that
I may include in compiling my information. The thesis is a personal
work as well as I have a history of asthma and my son's life is highly
effected by asthma. I would appreciate any input that you have to offer.
I feel very blessed to be able to do this work and wish to do the best
for the lives I am privileged to be a part of. Thank you again for your
work and willingness to follow it. In Peace, Joy, Love, and Light, Laurie
Monday, June 02, 2003 4:10 PM
Laurie, Part of the reason I made the Child's Play CD is because
there wasn't anything like it on the market. Most children's music products
are Raffi-style, and most yoga products are hatha posture oriented (not
much on breathing or focusing the mind). I wish I could be more helpful
in directing you to other books and products. I think the best avenue
for you is to approach the children's yoga book authors and ask them
what contacts they have for special needs. Many of these books are special,
and are written by caring yogis. thank you for your beautiful work,

Hi Wah, It's so nice to here your name being mentioned and music played
on WMNF in Tampa, FL this morning. Cameron Dilley has been giving you
some wonderful plugs and hope you've been listening in. The interview
was great. You did a great job and I hope it made an impact for you
in our community. I really enjoyed hearing your understanding about
the creative power of the arts which is something I'm quite passionate
about. Bob Gallo Friday, March 07, 2003 4:17 AM
Bob, yeah and thank YOU for suggesting we get an interview on WMNF.
Cameron was great, and I really appreciate your helping us out with
the introduction. wah Sunday, March 09, 2003 1:30 AM

dear wah!, i really love the song "jai ma" on the planet yoga
album....i was wondering want the words are translated to mean in english...i
know it is a song in praise of the divine mother (as it says)....but
beyond that....i would be so grateful to learn...thank you. laurie Sunday,
January 19, 2003 3:55 AM
hi laurie, yes, a translation word for word is... jai (literally
translated as 'hail' or 'victory' or 'praise'). I talk a lot about this
word in my concerts. It is a word you exclaim when you cannot say anything
else. when you see a beautiful sunset, when a child is born, when the
world trade towers fall... it is an expression of 'beyond'. like saying,
'wow!' and being speechless afterwards.
ma... is the divine mother, worshipped in every tradition. many saints
meditate and pray for a vision ofthe divine mother. the cosmos, if you
will, all wrapped up in a female form. wah Sunday, January 19, 8:17
PM
dear wah, thank you for responding....if at all possible i want to
learn the rest of the words to the song, written out in original form
and translation.....it has deep meaning for me....and is a song i will
be listening to daily....most grateful, laurie Sunday, January 19, 2003

whoops laurie, forgot the rest (think it is on the website also,
if you click on the lyrics links on the Hidden in the Name music page)
Amritamayi Anandamayi Amritanandamayi Ma, Jai Ma
Amrit means nectar, Mayi means mother, Anand means bliss, Mayi means
mother... So.... The Divine Mother who brings bliss. It is also the
name of a living saint. If you are feeling this strongly, you definitely
should check Her out. She is amazing, truly amazing. www.ammachi.org

Dear Wah! I saw you this last tour in Portland, OR. I sat in the front
row on the floor, heart melting with the familiar mantras, the rich
harmonies. You gave me a hug after the show, your realness was touching.
Right after the show I got Hidden in the Name, which I listen to religiously,
literally. I clean once in a while at my yoga studio, with my choice
of music to play. Savasana is one of my favorites. I finally borrowed
it from the studio and brought it home last night. I sat down in front
of the altar closed my eyes and not soon after the opening began to
play, I began to cry, tears strolling down my cheeks for seemingly no
reason. The words, both sanskrit and english are more beautiful than
anything I have ever heard. That song, actually all the songs but especially
Govind Jaya Jaya and Radhe, touch me in a place inside that is so deep
and so full it is positively overwhelming. And then I read the caption
for Radha Ramana Hari and the words were exactly what I was feeling.
I was utterly amazed and quite thankful for the synchronicity. I have
always been intrigued that you are a devotee of Ammachi. I absolutely
love Jai Ma and your other chants inspired by Her. I just wanted to
relay these events to you... I recently went to a satsang at a good
friend of mine's house in honor of Amma. This morning I was again listening
to Savasana in my car. When I checked my mail folder at school, there
was a note form my friend who held the satsang asking me if I wanted
to go to the upcoming retreat in Seattle. She enclosed a flyer with
a beautiful picture of the Divine Mother. As I was walking away another
friend of ours called my name and excitedly said to me, come with us
to seattle. I hadn't planned on going, that weekend was very busy for
me and I had seen Amma last year. The retreat was actually kind of a
strange experience for me, nothing too profound. However, these recent
events have kept me pondering especially with my connection to your
music and your connection and inspiration from Amma. I guess that is
why I was compelled to write all this to you. I would love to hear if
you have any response. In sincere love and gratitiude, Dara Wednesday,

Dara, these are the stories that describe spiritual opening. aren't
we all wandering around, hoping our hearts will be strong enough to
lead the way? How else could things be arranged the way they are? I
certainly can't figure it out. It would be impossible to figure out
the details of everyone's lives and hook them all together. All I know
is that when I stay tuned in, everything around me is synchronistically
beautiful... What Amma did for me, is she arranged for me to work on
myself. I had a lot of sadness surrounding spirituality and just in
general inside my heart. And after being with Her and continuing meditations
and satsangs, I found a deep connection with Her, AND a very specific
path to work on myself. The situations I was led into, were not easy
by any means. I threatened to quit, throw in the towel, give up... so
many times! Yet there She was, She showed up, or someone called, or
I got slammed with a message from Her in meditation... She has always
indicated to me that She is not far away, always watching over me. I
don't know how She does it. I don't know how it works. It seems like
all the saints and higher Beings work this way. How can they be so everpresent?
All I know is how it works for me, which is why I share my stories so
much. And indeed, other people confirm similar stories with their Gurus.
And books tell stories which confirm my experience.
It is not whether you are experiencing a profound connection at the
Amma retreat. The retreat and the phone calls are reminders that a connection
is possible. How you make the connection is up to you. You can meditate,
you can sing songs, it really doesn't matter. Focus in on the times
when you feel connected (like you describe in your email), try and memorize
how you feel. Understand what it feels like to be open, to be receiving
this beautiful energy. Using that as an anchor, you can allow your heart
to guide you to the next experiences. I wrote a song for Opium (my latest
CD), called 4 my eyes only. It describes how the drama in your life
is like a movie for your eyes only. No one else sees what you do. It's
only for your eyes, for your heart, for your understanding. Everyone
else there is seeing a completely different movie (their own). When
you are at retreats and satsangs and gatherings, at school, at work,
with friends, with enemies, the only thing that matters is how you open
up and become who you really are. Sharing the stories and chanting is
a wonderful way to do that. I once sat in my car and chanted Dhyayamo
(The Opening on Savasana) for 15 minutes... no tape, no CD, just me
in a hot sunny car, sitting with my eyes closed, meditating. I needed
some help... and I got it. shine on Dara! wah Sun 1/12/2003 9:07 AM

I have been practicing yoga for a year and a half now and as my friends
say, "I'm living the Yogi life". Thank You for being such
an inspiration to all of us. I am truly enjoying your Opium CD and so
are a few of my friends. I was wondering if you would post the words
to your songs on your website or send me a copy of them. Peace, Love
and Happiness to you, Norma Berrios November 14, 2002 6:17 AM

Hi Wah! Puppies now RUN to sit in front of the speakers when they hear
your voice. Honestly, when you go to Jivamukti, ask Sharon (India's
godmother) and David. They too have had the pleasure of puppies and
kitty chanting kirtan. Honestly Wah, Ollie the collie will go on for
10 minutes not missing a woof w/call and response. It's amazing. Oceans

It was nice to meditate with you once again. I am glad you are happy
serving your guru. My husband last fall brought me some Krsna Das tapes.
I was thinking you would like this music and i was thinking of sending
you a copy. I was listening to Breath of the Heart and I was unsure
of the pronunciation of one of the words. As I was looking up the word
i glanced at the credits and saw your name and then your picture. small

Dear Wah,...I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed your music. I
am interested in buying one of your CD's but would like the one most
similar to what you performed on Saturday night. Can you tell me what
that might be? Thank you again for your music and contribution. Rhonda

Rhonda, Hidden
in the Name is most like what we do at our live shows. We also sprinkle
in songs in English (Walk thru that Door, Opium) and CD Krishna. glad
you liked the concert! wah March 2, 2002 12:02 AM

good evening, i'm looking out the window at a magnificant montage of
sky and sea...sunset over swami's..i remembered something that i wanted
to express to you...sometimes life changes and you don't get to say
what is important...so here it is...when i heard you chant last month,
and from listening to your recorded cd's, i experienced that your song
comes from a very sacred space, from a place of stillness... and you
allow your voice to give form to the stillness that you touch...at times
in my practice i touch a place....this is hard to write about, to give
words to, and i don't want to sound 'new age', yet still i have my experience....sometimes
it seems that i am simply resonanting with a chant that has always existed,
that other beings are continuously chanting on some other loka....i
have been chanting the om namah shivaya that i heard you do, and my
experience is that this song is being sung by many beings even now.i
just wanted to tell you that i feel that what you are doing is important,
that your work expression is impacting other souls, that from hearing
you i feel a deep connection and familiarity with the place from which
your music springs....john d September 13, 2001 6:10 PM

Namaste, dear sister of the Soul, I have recently found your music and
just had to write to tell you that I so enjoy your cds! And I'm devasted
that I didn't know you were in Vancouver and on VTV until I just now
visited your webpage. If you ever do a concert here please let do me
know. Thank you especially for the chants to the Divine Mother that
bring joy and tears all at the same time. Bhavani Devi August 12, 2001

Dear Wah, I have been chanting for over twenty five years (I have been
a Kriyaban, Yogananda's, for about that long). I have collected cds
and tapes fromjust about everyone: Uttal, KD, Hari Om Charam (India),
Hare Krishnas, Felix Maria (German -- a devotee of Sai Baba), Nirvanananda,
my good friend from Brazil Tomaz Lima, Bhagan Das and many more. We
have our own kirtan band in Brazil, where I live now, named YogaBanda.
All this to let you know you are way way better than all of them. Really.
Trust your work which is truly amazing. You are on your way to be a star.
And about time we get a yogi star, shining in this oh so material world.
All the best, Claudio Edinger July 05, 2001 10:07 AM
Claudio, I laughed out loud when I read your message you are truly
a delight Funny, I tried the pop career, all the while continuing my
chanting and yoga as my own private practice. Then, I let the pop career
go, and started opening my chanting practice to people, as a gathering.
I have been onstage since I was a child, and many people have said I
will be a "star" but I never thought I would get to be a yogi
star... thank you for your sweet words <wah> July 9, 2001 3:44

Now that I think of it (and after listening to your double CD for the
entire two hours it took from our farm to the city here in Sao Paulo,
Brazil) I decided you are not a star. You are the Moon -- as my Guru
Yogananda says, the moon shines brighter than all the stars. Keep trusting
your instincts and mixing world music with mantra, like you do. It works
really well. In the Mother's love, Claudio July 10, 2001 11:35 AM

Ohhhh the day Wah came into my life...*LOLOL* I heard some of your chanting
on CD at a yoga weekend in Quebec. I was captured by the chants...but
couldn't bring them home. Someone said you were coming to Toronto...and
well you know it was full. *LOLOL* I had no attachment to seeing you...and
poof...next thing I know you are coming to my home town of Ottawa! I
went to your website, and my computer chanted your tunes...and I fell
in love... I then went to Kripalu for their 10th Yoga Teachers Confrence.
I was on a mission, to buy Wah cds! There were so many teachers in the
shop looking for material for their classes...I said the Krishna cd
was a must...within 10 minutes all the cds in the shop were sold! I
know of 6 people who bought
them! All were listening to Wah on the cd players for trying out cds...*giggles*
isn't life grand...I hadn't listened to tunes on the other cds, so with
limited cash...(you know how rich yoga teachers are, and cdn cash no
less) I chose the double cd. I made everyone in the van listen to it
all the way back to Canada...for 7 hours...hahahah...I Wahed them! I
was at Santosha on the 7th of July, with my children Jennie 13, and
Katie
11, and my husband tooooo...I made them all come! I am such a...how
do you say it...Bhakti Head... *LOLOL*....Jai Wah!!! Dipta July 11,
