Healing Concert

‘The combination of healing music and lights was gorgeous and profoundly soothing.’
-FISKE PLANETARIUM | UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO

Healing Concert

World Peace. Peace Within.

The Healing Concert is a multi-media performance designed to inspire world peace and peace within. Slow moving, calming laser lights and visual projections create patterns found in Nature such as constellations in the sky and Northern Lights on the horizon. Wah! performs live, her beautiful voice, loops, delays, and keyboards creating a feature length performance of profound beauty.

Wah!'s CDs are used worldwide for yoga, relaxation, healing and meditation. She has performed The Healing Concert at theatres, expos, conferences, planetariums and universities throughout the country, including UC Boulder's Fiske Planetarium, Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, Loyola Marymount University, and NJ State Museum in Trenton. She has run a record label for 20 years and published books on yoga and healing.

All are welcome! Please come, bring friends or family, enter the space, be with yourself, slow down your thoughts and receive healing from the music and nature. www.wahmusic.com

When the audience arrives for a Healing Concert, they are welcomed by nature – a sunset or a slide show of flowers and natural beauty. Right away, the environment is inviting and relaxing. The concert begins with slow-moving projections of outer space. Songs, parts of songs, loops, delays, sounds of foghorns, birds, or whales mix together to create a soundscape which is part performance and part spacious invitation. Some audience members might not even have their eyes open when the healing lights come on, but if they did they would see the beautiful lights bathing the audience in constellation-like patterns, the Northern Lights moving along the horizon. Wah!’s voice alone could inspire lowered heartrates and stress levels, but she speaks, sings and plays with messages of love and peace. The audience drifts, dreams, sighs, and relaxes. When a slow rotating Earth is visible in the sky Wah! asks everyone to pray for world peace or sing along with an ancient prayer from India (Lokaha Samastaha Sukhino Bhavantu) wishing peace to the planet and its people. At the end of the concert Wah! distributes flower petals to each audience member.

The concert brings attention to the need for harmony and balance in ourselves and our world. “We are at a pivotal point in history; there are more people on the planet now than ever before. We have to find a way to come back into harmony with Mother Nature,” says Wah! “We give out flower petals at the end of each Healing Concert to inspire hope, caring and compassion. People take them home and give them to friends, put them in the garden, creating pathways for peace.”

“People have profound experiences at the Healing Concert,” says Wah! “Some people sleep; some rest; some people cry… not tears of sorrow but as an expression, an acknowledgement of life, a surrender to authentic emotion.” Wah! encourages people to bring their families, grandparents, friends and community. “You can bring family members, friends and relatives and share peace together,” she says, “It’s easy to do! The lights, music, the whole experience is very soothing.” Wah! has spent many years teaching people about healing, peaceful states; she has lectured at Princeton University, Loyola Marymount University, performed with Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, and taught in yoga centers, cancer clinics and churches. Her latest book, Healing: A Vibrational Exchange focuses on seven ways you can interact with your world to create more space and healing in your life.

The Healing Concert is a song cycle, which is a group of songs, poems, improvisations and spoken word expressed as one cohesive performance. There is no intermission. Seating varies from venue to venue – in planetariums the audience sits in reclining seats. Theatres have fixed seating. Hotel ballrooms, museums and auditoriums allow for both chair seating and floor seating; audience members can come with mats and cushions to lie down and watch the “stars in the sky.” Check the flyer to see if “FLOOR SEATING” is indicated. If not, only chair seating is permitted. Thank you for supporting the Healing Concert!

Wah! in Ladies Home Journal

Spring 2015 issue …While playing music to help calm and renew people was something she had been doing in performances since she was 17, Wah! recently decided to take this concept to another level and launched The Healing Concert tour and a book called Healing: A Vibrational Exchange (Wah! Music, 2014). Her concerts encourage deep relaxation, rejuvenation, and expansion of the senses. “I want people to pull back and find a place of contentment,” Wah! says. A vibrant light show based on random patterns bathes the ceiling and walls while she plays multiple instruments, sings in a calming chant style, teaches deep breathing, distributes flower petals, and speaks in positive confirmations. “You don’t have to be more, you already are all of it,” she says. Wah! uses the same methods to comfort cancer patients and their caregivers during free workshops and hospital performances.

Wisdom of Wah!
One musician uses her natural gift of music to help people with healing and centering.

Composer Wah! whose elegant vocals have become standard in yoga studios worldwide, has launched a U.S. Tour that soothes with sound and light.

Wah! has toured the world as a musician, recorded 18 albums, owns a record lane, performed with Deepak Chopra, and lectured at Princeton University, but what she finds really rewarding is what she calls her healing work – touting music as therapeutic.

In 2007 Wah! had a brain edema and fall that nearly took her life. After her recovery, during a European concert tour, self-described healing artists began to seek Wah! out following her concerts. Sometimes their work was as simple as holding her head in their hands. “I was introduced to the world in a very different way – of sensing, feeling, connectivity,” Wah! says. “I knew I could do that with sound.
