   UNPLUGGED

This CD captures Wah!'s English songs in a live setting. Backed by a mostly acoustic band, WAH! sings as only she can - silky smooth and from the heart. The songs are intimate and revealing - some previously released, some new, all of them fresh in this performance of a lifetime. Sparsely sprinkled with light percussion, harmonium, rotating Leslie speakers, occasional back-up vocalists, and electric bass, the CD brings you on a journey of uplifting quietude.

Editorial Reviews

Music Design Magazine/Milwaukee, WI
The strength of Wah!'s voice provides the centerpiece for the songs, each of which showcases the lithe nature of the artist's singing. The style could best be described as "acoustic folk," which perfectly fits the introspective lyrics. A very warm and thought-provoking album, UNPLUGGED shows that even without ancient mantras, Wah! definitely knows how to lift the spirit in a multitude of ways. March/April 2005

Fan Reviews

M/USA   Your liner notes mention how it often seems that when you begin working on yourself, things start changing rapidly and sometimes you're left with nothing. I realize how odd this may sound, however I found a sense of comfort in that admission; something I had experienced in my own life and was left wondering, "Were these supposed to be improvements?!" Having found your experience to be similar, I realized that when the tectonic plates of spiritual growth shift, everything gets moved - sometimes all at once. These things needed to happen. At the time, I couldn't appreciate that. After the dust had settled, I began to see how these rapid changes conspired to propel me forward. There is so much more to say, I am at a loss to say it all. 05/05/2005

Baird Hersey/Woodstock, NY   I have been enjoying the "Unplugged" CD. You are blessed with such an eclectic talent. The first cut "Opium" is my favorite. It is obvious you could thrive in either the acoustic pop world or the world of Kirtan. 3/23/2005

David Goldberg/NYC   On the drive back from Kripalu, I listened to your entire 2-CD Hidden in the Name and your newest work, Unplugged – which was fantastic, and better than Opium in my opinion (which you told me when I purchased it). The notes in Unplugged were very revealing and helped me to better appreciate the context of the lyrics and your own personal experience. I was moved by the feelings you shared, especially the ones described in Lose Everything. Your message is inspiring. 3/23/2005

Steven Schwartz/Ft Lauderdale, FL   I have been listening to UNPLUGGED for two days now and I love LEAP OF FAITH (power packed), FLY AWAY (Joni Mitchell excellence), and DREAM (same vibrance as Midnight at the Oasis, Maria Muldaur). UNPLUGGED is really awesome... Today it's going to be about 80 in Ft. Lauderdale, clear, crisp and beautiful, just like your voice. 2/14/2005

Anny Lee/Taiwan, Republic of China   Greetings from Taiwan! Today, for the first time, I introduced your song Open (from Unplugged) during the chanting hour of our yoga class. The lyrics are beautiful in Chinese. (chinese translation) 12/20/2004
